Leofoto Summit LM-405C carbon tripod

The Leofoto Summit series is designed for the larger, heavier cameras and lenses. The LM-405C is the tripod with the most leg sections in this series. Because of the five leg sections, the maximum working height of the tripod is 165cm and when folded it is only 53cm long. The tripod is delivered without ball head. Without ball head it has a minimum working height of only 9.5cm. Due to its thick legs, this tripod can easily carry camera combinations up to 40 kilograms. The LM-405C Summit tripod weighs no more than 2450 grams. It comes with removable tripod plate and half-bowl for video of 100mm diameter, a carrying bag, spikes and multi-tool.

The Leofoto Summit Series

The tripods in the Leofoto Summit Series are distinguished by their enormous stability and light weight. They have a wide, removable tripod plate and no center column, which minimizes vibration and makes them very sturdy. In addition, they all come with half-bowl, making them suitable for mounting a video head as well. Optionally, a center column is available to increase the maximum working height. On the sides and bottom of the tripod plate are UNC 3/8 screw holes to which a magic arm or smartphone can be attached. At the top of the plate is a spirit level.

The extremely sturdy Summit LM-405C tripod

The Summit LM-405C tripod is designed for all heavy duty jobs with a large SLR, medium format camera or video camera. The tripod legs consist of five sections with diameters of 40, 36, 32, 28 and 25 mm. These are equipped with the Twistlock system and are therefore quick to unfold. The removable tripod plate has a diameter of 100mm and is equipped with a standard tripod screw of 3/8 inch, making it suitable for almost any head. The tripod has rubber feet, but a set of spikes is included so you can use the tripod on any surface. This makes the tripod a real must for the professional who works with heavy equipment.

Features of the tripod

• Offset Leg Joints: Tripods must occasionally withstand significant torsion loads so it is crucial that the leg angle stops, and all other structural joints are well supported. Our patented offset leg joints fully support the leg angle stops, allowing loads to be transferred straight through the strongest elements of the tripod. This also means the tripod is more compact when collapsed.
• Rubber Ball Feet: Large diameter teardrop-shape keeps leg sidewalls from touching the ground even at the lowest settings and makes positive contact with the ground at virtually any angle.
• High visibility bullseye spirit level is embedded in the apex for accurate levelling.
• Twist Grip Leg Extension Locks: Textured semi-hard rubber allows for easy adjustments and strong grip. Anti-twist leg sections mean each twist lock can be operated independently.
• Changing Platform, Video Bowl & Centre Column. Allows quick and very secure change-out from a simple platform to a Versa Quick-Column or YB Series Levelling Base.
